SMETS Certificate swap

By paying a deposit you do NOT need to join the waitlist
For customers who already have a Glow Display CAD or Wired CAD and need to have different certificates installed on the unit. This happens when:
- Your energy supplier replaces your SMETS1 meters with SMETS2 meters
- You move to a new property that has different meter types to your previous home *
The fee covers the cost of the certificate, postage to return the unit and contributes to our time to physically open up the device, install the new certificate, etc.
Security certificates are structured differently between SMETS1 and SMETS2 devices; the ones on your CAD have to match the meter type of your meters.
Please give us your Bright account in the Notes field when you place your order, thank you. Contact us and we'll give you the address to return the unit to for us to perform the swap.
* When you are planning a move and have a Glow CAD - this is the process to follow:
- Contact Hildebrand and ask to have your CAD disassociated from your meters. We need to remove the association to your old meters before the device can be re-used. After we have confirmed we've finished, go to step 2
- You need to revoke our permission to access those meters from within Bright / Settings / Consent & meter management
- You set up the new property by going to Settings / Consent & meter management and tap on the '+' on the right and follow the steps
- Contact Hildebrand and ask to have your CAD associated to your new meters
IF the meters are a different variant, then you'll need to purchase a certificate swap and return the unit to us for the process.
