Glow for homes/Bright Meter Verification Process
For us to connect one of our CAD devices to your meters we need your consent; provide it through either our Bright App or using our glowforhomes.com web site by going through our meter verification process. Typically we don't fulfil your order until this has been done because it also give us information to ensure we are compatible (for example, no device can be connected to a Trilliant Communications Hub).
This process ensures you give consent and meets our regulator's requirements (see more information below) to confirm you have the right to give this consent. The smart metering system is critical national infrastructure and access to it is highly regulated.
How do I go through the meter verification process?
- Start by creating an account either within the Bright app (available on iOS or Android) or on glowforhomes.com (Please note, you can use the same login credentials in Bright and on glowforhomes.com)
- Once your account has been created when you first sign in you'll be prompted to "Set up Smart Meter"
- We offer different options on the information we need to match your property to your meter/s. Options include using the identifier of your current IHD, or a recent bill, a credit card, etc.
- Once this information has been verified, we aim to start retrieving your half-hourly data within 48hrs. Please note: If you're interested in a Display/CAD, that provides real-time data, you can purchase as soon as you're information has been verified (it's up to you, but there's no need to wait for your data to appear!)
Feel concerned about sharing your data?
